Move in / move out cleaning checklist
The checklist we work through on an empty home, built around what landlords, property managers, and buyers actually inspect.
Deposit deductions usually come from the same handful of places: oven interiors, stovetop drip pans, bathroom grout, window tracks, and closet shelves. Those are exactly what this list covers. Book before your walkthrough, not after, so there's time to address anything that comes up.

Kitchen
- Inside the oven, including racks and door glass
- Inside the refrigerator and freezer
- Inside and outside of all cabinets and drawers
- Inside the dishwasher and microwave
- Countertops, backsplash, and sink
- Range hood and filter
- Behind and under appliances where they pull out
- Pantry shelves wiped
Bathrooms
- Tubs, showers, and grout fully scrubbed
- Toilets cleaned inside, outside, and behind
- Inside vanities and medicine cabinets
- Mirrors, counters, and fixtures
- Exhaust fans dusted and wiped
- Towel bars and hooks wiped
Throughout the home
- Every closet, shelf, and rod wiped
- Baseboards, trim, and door frames
- Interior windows, sills, and tracks
- Walls spot-cleaned for scuffs and marks
- Light fixtures, ceiling fans, and vent covers
- Switch plates and outlet covers
- Blinds dusted
- Laundry area, including behind machines where accessible
Finishing
- All floors vacuumed and mopped last
- Garage swept on request
- Patio or balcony swept on request
- Trash removed from the property
- Final walkthrough before we hand it back
